Supporting Learners with Mental Health Challenges

Many newcomers struggle withmental health issues.  In this two hour workshop, participants will become familiar with mental health issues and how they impact adult English language learnrs.  Participants will also learn how to plan implement instruction that is sensitive to and inclusive of individuals with these issus.  The workshop will address when and where to seek professional help and how to refer learners to a mental health professional in a tactful and non-instrusive manner.  Participants will also have the opportunity to explore mental health curriculum resources for use with learners.
