Meet-the-Expert Sessions

About the Meet-the-Expert Sessions

The “Meet-the-Expert” Sessions will be a total of 75 minutes in length.

The aim of these sessions is to provide an informal atmosphere where delegates can interact with “experts”, who will give their undivided attention for two rounds of 40-minute sessions for knowledge, insight and networking. The session will be open on a first-come, first-served basis.

After a short presentation (up to 10 minutes), the “expert” will open the session for discussion, driven by active audience participation.

After the first 35-minute round, delegates will be signaled to find a new table topic.

Delegates will round out their Symposium experience with practical working sessions focused on hot-topic issues that organizations face and the solutions and resources that are available to address them.

Delegates will have an opportunity to meet, learn from and consult with the “experts” in 2 of the topic areas.

Topics so far will include:

  • AE CALP Team - CALP Grant
  • ESL Rural Routes
  • Read with Sight & Sound
  • Resources for Instructing Computing Essential Skills and Google Applications
  • Strengthening Literacy Practices Project
  • Using the New Foundational Numeracy and Life Skills Materials
