Lac La Biche Canadian Native Friendship Centers Association’s Indigenous Learning Support Program provides people's interest in furthering their educational goals by assisting and encouraging individuals to be lifelong learners in literacy, learning, and math. The program offers a variety of programming for learning traditional Indigenous skills and teachings, works with  people from different institutions and brings in various facilitators and Elders to speak. These activities encourage using one's imagination, basic math skills, writing and reading, and hands on learning as well as oral communication.   The program assists individuals with learning skills for finding employment and preparing for post-secondary institutions.
The Lac La Biche Canadian Native Friendship Centre's Indigenous Learning Support Program supports Portage College students by connecting them to Indigenous culture while on campus.   Elders and faciliators once a week provide opportunity for students to gather, share their experiences and assist in meeting their needs for academic success. as well as a cup of tea and a fun, relaxing art project with a craft circle. Some of the resources included for students; obrrowing chromebooks, project/essay research help, application assistance for schools and scholarships/fundings ,and point them in the right directions for any other help they may need regarding, family, housing, mental health, food bank, scholarships, funding. Learning support is also able to help individuals create and update their resumes, and print copies as well.
The Indigenous Learning Support program offers many different activities for individuals to learn new skills, try new things, experience traditional arts and practices, and listen to Elders' teachings. These aspects are important for community because they keep people connected with the traditional ways of living through arts and practices, and encourage lifelong learning for all ages.
Workshop sessions have included; beading, baking, sewing ribbon skirts, using traditional plants for medicinal purposes, paintings in nature, and storytelling from the Elders.   All of these actvities incoporate essential skills with the basics of literacy, reading, and math encouraging people to use these skills in every day- to-day life. People are able to take these lessons, stories and experiences home and continue the learning with their family and friends..
