Welcome to CALP

Welcome to CALP

The Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) works to ensure that every adult Albertan has access to the foundational learning opportunities they need to live full and successful lives. As CALP staff, you are part of a network of over 80 programs in communities across Alberta committed to supporting the CALP Vision:

CHANGING LIVES THROUGH ADULT FOUNDATIONAL LEARNING IN CONNECTED COMMUNITIES.

A significant part of your role is to build support for and awareness of foundational learning in your community. In order to do that, you will need to first understand adult learners and foundational learning from a CALP point of view.

The CALP Guidelines help you do just that. This document from Government of Alberta outlines the requirements and expectations of organizations funded through the Community Adult Learning Program grant. The CALP Guidelines provide your CALP with the flexibility to meet the learning needs of adult foundational learners in your community through grassroots, part-time and informal literacy and foundational learning opportunities.
