Mode of Delivery - Courses

Cal P. has worked in the trades since age 16. With the changes in the economy, Cal will be off of work for the next couple of months. In order to make the most of this time and plan for future goals at work along with wanting to be more employable, Cal P. wants to get a GED. Cal knows that upgrading math skills is needed to reach this goal.

A course on improving math skills is a great option for learners like Cal P. as courses have:

  • a cohort of learners with similar learning needs
  • staff capacity to deliver educational experiences that focus on addressing participants’ learning goals through relevant, structured curriculum
  • access to instructors who are well-versed in serving foundational learners in a group setting and who are able to measure the skill development of learners in relation to the course goal

Your CALP might be in the best position to help address these things that are getting in the way of Cal P. meeting their goals. This scenario reinforces the effectiveness of a course as a mode of delivery.
