When you are planning your program you will identify a “primary intended learning objective” or PILO, so it is clear which skills will be taught throughout the program.

Of course, the learning opportunities your CALP offers will be holistic and learner-centered. As a result, there is a significant likelihood that there will be additional learning outside of the primary intended learning objective of any learning opportunity you offer.

Still, it is important to be intentional about learning objectives, and to create space for targeted instruction in every learning opportunity your CALP offers.
