For the purposes of this e-Learning, we have created a visual representation of an adult foundational learner and named them Cal P. (Truthfully, the naming rights belong to a CALP staff in the north region and we think it is just perfect!)

We know every adult learner is unique, and there is no way to capture all potential learners with one image, but Cal P. provides us with an opportunity to discuss the diversity of learners supported by the Community Adult Learning Program.

Cal P.’s clothes tell a story: 

Hat = name, age, family
Shirt = location in Alberta, education, employability
Pants = past experience, strengths, talents 
Shoes = challenges & supports
