Check on previous lesson
Listen to the second step of Foundational Learning Lesson Planning and follow along below.
It's always a good idea to check on the previous lesson. Sometimes you'll find the learner wasn't able to practice anything between lessons or they didn't learn it as well as they hoped the first time around. That's okay. This check-in can become a review and end up being the whole lesson. Save your new lesson plan for another time. Practice will help learners use and retain skills. So, reviewing previous lessons can help solidify learning. It really enables the learner to move on to the next skill or strategy. If the learner isn't able to practice between lessons at all, you can practice more during lessons. Remember to slow the pace of introducing new content so you have more time to practice while you're together. |
