e-Learning Overview
Family literacy focuses on how families use reading, writing, and communication skills in their everyday lives. Within the CALP system, these programs help adults build their own literacy and foundational skills while creating literacy-rich environments at home. This e-learning supports CALP staff in planning, delivering, and sustaining effective family literacy programs that align with CALP policies and meet community needs.
Through this e-learning, you will build your confidence in planning, facilitating, and managing CALP-funded family literacy programs. You’ll learn to:
- Understand family literacy within the CALP Policy Manual and operating requirements
- Identify learner and community needs to guide program design
- Recruit, train, and support facilitators and volunteers
- Collaborate with partners and promote your programs
- Manage program budgets, reporting, and operational details
By the end of this e-learning, you’ll have practical tools and strategies to run effective, learner-centred family literacy programs that help adults and families grow together through literacy.
