Discover how the volunteer tutor model helps support adult learners. This e-learning will guide you through each step, from recruiting and screening volunteers to training, matching, and ongoing support. You will see how tutoring fits into the CALP framework, connects with adult learning principles, and helps learners succeed through flexible, learner-focused approaches.
Through this e-learning, you will build your understanding of how to design, implement, and support a volunteer tutor program in your CALP. You’ll learn to:
- Recognize how tutoring supports foundational learning within CALP’s four modes of delivery
- Identify the key responsibilities of a volunteer tutor coordinator
- Recruit, screen, and orient volunteers effectively and equitably
- Deliver training grounded in adult learning principles
