Accessibility in the EAL Classroom

This special Alberta Routes webinar will offer food for thought, tips, and tools for creating an inclusive learning classroom, as well as activities and simple tweaks that can make a huge difference to learners and teachers, and help EAL practitioners reflect on their current practices.

Guest speaker Beverley Titchener is the Program Support and Student Inclusion Advisor at NorQuest College. Having moved from the UK to Alberta, she has volunteered with St Albert Further Education and has worked briefly as a LINC instructor. Currently, she works with an array of LINC students with unique accessibility needs: adult learners returning to learn, youth who have been excluded from education for one reason or another, students on the autism spectrum, learners who are visually impaired or have cognitive processing concerns. She and her team also assist with PD for LINC instructors and staff, helping them create an amazing learning environment for newcomers to Canada who have unique learning needs.
