Books for Babies is a family literacy certificate training developed by the Centre for Family Literacy. The Books for Babies program is for families with young children (under 1 year) that encourages the sharing of books. This training provides information on delivery of a 4-week series of parent sessions. In these sessions parents learn:
- Why we read to babies,
- How to choose books for very young children,
- Different types of books to choose, and
- Other resources available within communities to families.
In the training, time will be spent on types of books to share and how to share them; also discussion on early child development. As well there will be a focus on facilitation skills, administration details and promotion of the program to participants, funders and partners.
Registration Deadline is Monday, October 3, 2016.
Fees (includes materials, snacks and lunch)
CALP staff: $50.00
Other (non-CALP agencies): $100.00

Cancellations and Refund Policy
Cancellations up to two weeks prior to the event are eligible for a full refund.
Cancellations later than two weeks prior to the event are eligible for a credit to be applied to another training opportunity coordinated by the Community Learning Network within the current fiscal period (July 1st to June 30th).
