CALP Database Updates: Spring 2017

The CALP Database is a secure online data management system that is hosted and managed by the Community Learning Network, and accessible free of charge to CALPs throughout Alberta. The Database allows you to track learner and registration data, as well as to track and manage information required for CALP reporting to Alberta Advanced Education (such as learner demographics, volunteer hours, outcomes and indicators, etc.).

This spring, we have been working with the CALP team at Advanced Education to update the CALP Database to align with the new CALP Grant Final Report form.

In addition to ensuring that the reports are aligned to the CALP grant, we are currently working with the Database development team to make some additions and improvements to the system. The updates will be launched over the weekend of March 10th. Some key features to watch for include:

  • Changes to some of the language, to better align with the CALP grant
  • New fields to track additional data, like the total number of staff hours, non-tutoring volunteer hours
  • Improved functionality for tracking tutor pairs and small group tutoring

CLN staff Odette Lloyd and Cheryl Lovstrom will highlight the changes to the system, the revised user manual (which will be released in mid-March), and provide time for a question and answer session for more advanced Database users/
