EAL Literacy Learners in Mainstream Classes

EAL Literacy Learners in Mainstream Classes

Date: Wednesday, February 11, 2026

Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Where: Online, Zoom
Facilitators: Emily Albertsen

When there are no dedicated literacy classes available, EAL literacy learners are often placed in levels with non-literacy peers. This creates a multi-level learning environment where the instructor is simultaneously teaching literacy and language skills and strategies to learners with a wide range of educational backgrounds. In this online workshop, we will explore approaches to meeting the needs of literacy learners in mixed-level classes.
