In this session you will explore the importance of strategic thinking and what it means to be truly “strategic” before you begin the typical planning process. You will also come away with tips on how to build ownership and commitment, resulting in a plan that is closely followed, versus one that collects dust!
Presenter: Scott Vaughan
Scott has worked with community groups and organizations in Alberta for over 20 years facilitating and assisting them with issues related to board governance, strategic thinking/planning, stakeholder and public engagement, team building and board development. He is currently with Alberta Culture and Tourism, Community Development Unit based in Stony Plain AB. Scott volunteers in the communities he lives and works in. Scott is a strong supporter of the Margaret Mead quote; “Never doubt that a small group of community minded people can change the world... it is the only thing that ever has!”
