How do adults learn a language? Two day linguistics workshop.

Language is at the very core of what it means to be human. It defines us as people and it binds our communities and families together. It is our vehicle for the transmission of knowledge and it shapes our view of the world. Join us for a two day workshop on linguistics, the science of human language.

Some topics we will explore are:

  • how children and adults acquire language
  • how language works in the brain and how languages are structured
  • how languages change, grow, die out and are revitalized
  • some of the interrelationships between language, society and social life.

No previous knowledge or experience is necessary.
