Interrupting Bias

Rural Routes is partnering with Drumheller Community Learning Society to offer a workshop on Interrupting Bias. The 90-minute workshop will be offered on a hybrid delivery, simultaneously onsite at Drumheller (venue TBA) and online on Blackboard Collaborate. ESL practitioners and other staff working with adult learners are invited to attend.
Workshop Description:
Conscious and unconscious biases are part of being human. During this interactive workshop, participants will examine what bias is and how to mitigate bias. Participants will also learn practices that are helpful to effectively set expectations for valuing diverse viewpoints and facilitating respectful conversations. The information and teaching practices discussed in this workshop can be utilized in a variety of disciplines/areas to promote equity and inclusion.
