Introduction to Intercultural Communication

The role of the EAL practitioner involves interacting with learners from a variety of cultural backgrounds. In this workshop, participants are invited to reflect on foundational concepts related to culture, including how culture is defined and how it relates to people’s behaviors and values, and how to respond to unfamiliar encounters with mindfulness in order to foster effective intercultural communication in and out of the classroom.
