Literacy & Parenting Skills Facilitator Training: Indigenous & General Approaches (ILAPS/LAPS)

Literacy & Parenting Skills Facilitator Training: Indigenous & General Approaches

This in-person training combines the ILAPS and LAPS programs, both designed to help parents build foundational learning, literacy, and parenting skills.  The program celebrates both Indigenous and non-Indigenous traditions and perspectives, empowering parents to strengthen their children’s literacy, explore key parenting topics, and enhance their own foundational skills.
Facilitators learn strategies for working with adult foundational learners and families, cultural facilitation techniques, and how to adapt ILAPS and LAPS sessions to meet the specific needs of their communities.

Participants receive a Facilitator’s Guide—filled with adaptable lesson plans and activities.
