Call for Presenters Form

Deadline for submissions is Thursday, October 17, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.

Thank you for your interest in presenting at the Literacy & Learning Symposium 2026!

We are currently accepting proposals from presenters with knowledge, skills, and wisdom to share. Our goal is to create a program that includes a variety of relevant, high quality and engaging learning sessions to strengthen and support the CALP system.

We are building a program that will include two sets of 75 minute breakout sessions on Thursday, April 30 between 1:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. in-person in Edmonton, AB.

To be considered, sessions must be engaging learning formats and must have clear learning objectives. Session participants should walk away with knowledge of a tool, strategy or approach that will enhance their ability to support learners. Participants should also come away from these sessions with a clear understanding of the relevance of the session topic to their work, as well as information on how and where to access additional resources and supports. If interested in submitting a proposal, please be sure to:

  • Prepare all information in advance and submit at once. (Note: the CALP Portal times out with inactivity and any information in the form that has not been submitted cannot be recovered)
  • Use clear, plain language and be as descriptive as possible.
  • Be ready to upload a print quality photo for each presenter (minimum 300 dpi resolution).

Presenter Compensation

The lead presenter will be compensated $600 for developing and delivering a 75-minute breakout session. Out of town lead presenters will be reimbursed for roundtrip mileage. Lead presenters located more than 300 kms from the host venue will also be reimbursed for up to one night of accommodation. All expenses related to the provision of all materials, including resources and/or handouts needed for their session are the lead presenter’s responsibility.

Our Symposium 2026 Theme is: “Illuminate”

We are seeking presentations with a focus on making something visible or bright by shining light on it; to help to clarify or explain.

Please note:

Before submitting this form, kindly ensure that all the required information is included, content is correct, and that maximum word limits have been respected. Once you click SUBMIT, please be assured that your proposal submission has been received.
