Strategies for Teaching Grammar

Description:

This workshop will help participants gain fluency and confidence when addressing grammar topics. Participants will explore the advantages and limitations of grammar instruction. They will be exposed to a wide variety of strategies and resources as they learn to plan lessons that contextualize grammar into other language skills, provide for focused practice, and provide opportunities to apply what was learned.

 
Outcomes:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Decide what aspects of grammar to teach
  • Access useful resources online
  • Plan grammar lessons that:
    • Raise awareness, present the structure, provide opportunity for focused practice, provide opportunity for using the structure in communication(speaking/writing), and provide correction and feedback.
