Description
Based on ATESL Best Practices for Adult ESL and LINC Programming in Alberta, this workshop explores principles and strategies for teaching speaking, listening, reading and writing. In the process of learning about these skills, participants will gain familiarity with the Canadian Language Benchmarks, discover useful resources, and learn how to design lessons.
Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Use CLB descriptors for speaking, listening, reading and writing at their learners’ level
- Incorporate a wide selection of text and task types in instruction
- Identify best practices for instruction
- Identify useful resources for teaching speaking, listening, reading and writing
- Plan a lesson
