Practical solutions and best practices for implementing trauma-informed care into adult education.

About this event:

Creating learning and academic environments that are trauma-informed can have lasting benefits for students, staff, and furthermore the communities we live in. This Training aims to provide educators with the tools and skills that acknowledge the diverse backgrounds of each student that enters their classroom, their office or their adult learning program as well as each person they encounter in their lives. The goal of this workshop is to nurture learning opportunities that flourish for all.

Who is this for?

ESL instructors, adult educators, professors, instructors and trainers, will be engaged in practical tools and relevant strategies to address trauma in teaching and learning. 

Learning Outcomes:

- Realize the widespread impact of trauma and understands the importance of connection to self and community.

- Engage in recognizing the signs and symptoms of trauma in students, staff, and others involved within the system.

- Develop knowledge of “Responding” by fully integrating knowledge about trauma into practice.

- Define the Core Principles of Trauma-Informed Care in the Classroom
