The Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden is in Lethbridge. Walk near the pond. Listen the the waterfall. Look at the trees and rocks.
"Nikka Yuko" means "Japan-Canada friendship."
O. Oil Sands
Fort McMurray is in the middle of the Athabasca Oil Sands. The oil sands cover a huge area.
Companies mine the sand. Then they take a heavy oil out of the sand.
P. Peace River
About 6,300 people live in Peace River. The town has a beautiful river valley.
PeaceFest is a popular music festival in the summer.
Q. Queen Elizabeth II Highway
Many people travel on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway. It is between Calgary and Edmonton.
The QE2 is part of Highway 2.
R. Reynolds-Alberta Museum
The Reynolds-Alberta Museum is near Wetaskiwin. You can see old cars, bikes, trucks, tractors, motorcycles and planes.
S. Siksika Nation
The Siksika Nation is east of Calgary. The land is called a reserve. It is the second largest reserve in Canada.
You can visit the Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park.
There is a powwow, fair and rodeo in August. Everyone is welcome.
Blackfoot Crossing
Blackfoot Crossing has been an important area for First Nations people for thousands of years. This area was a meeting place. People also crossed the Bow River here.
