Step 10: Collecting Other Data for Your CALP Report
Volunteer Hours
This is the total number of volunteer hours contributed to CALP-funded adult learning opportunities and services.
Volunteer hours include volunteer tutor hours (including hours they volunteer working directly with learners, as well as hours spent on prep and travel for tutoring sessions), volunteer board hours, and volunteer hours for events related to CALP programming.
Referring Organizations
This refers to the number of unique organizations or agencies who are referring learners to your CALP.
Keeping track of which organizations are referring learners IN to your CALP can also help you determine where you have the opportunity to build new relationships and where you might want to work to increase awareness of your organization.
CCB Referrals
This measure tracks the number of learners who come to foundational learning through a CCB program offering. If a learner first attends a CCB program offering then, as a result of attending that class, registers for a program offering in LFL, it counts as a CCB referral. The CCB registration does not need to be in the same funding cycle as the LFL registration.
Reduced Barriers*
Adult Foundational Learners may face a broad range of barriers to their learning. Within the CALP grant, your program can address some of these barriers by:
- Reducing / Waiving Fees
- Providing Childminding
- Providing transportation (like a gas card or bus tickets)
In-Kind Contributions*
This is the total amount of in-kind contributions (in dollars) to CALP-funded adult learning opportunities and services. It does NOT include cash contributions.
- You can approximate the dollar value of in-kind contributions such as:
- donated/volunteer professional services, like bookkeeping or IT support
- donated classroom space
- donated food or snacks for your programs,
- etc.
*Note: as of 2024, in-kind contributions and reduced barriers are no longer part of the CALP annual report to Advanced Education. However, keeping track of these measures is a good way to gage community support for your CALP.
