Foundations to Teaching Pronunciation: Vowels and Consonants

Teaching pronunciation must focus on two main areas of spoken English: individual sounds and the rhythm of words and sentences. This workshop explores the first area – teaching individual sounds of vowels and consonants. EAL tutors and instructors will identify some problematic sounds to teach their learners and explore how to use a communicative lesson plan outline to teach these sounds more effectively.
