Writing a List

Writing a List

Purpose

Writing lists may be for various purposes (described below in a list!):

  • To-do lists
  • Best-of lists
  • Grocery list
  • Brainstorming list
  • Checklist, etc.

How

Before writing a list, decide if categories are needed to organize it.

For example, a grocery list can have categories:

Produce:

  • Carrots
  • Lettuce
  • Apples

Meat:

  • Chicken

Dairy:

  • Milk
  • Ice cream

A brainstorming list does not need categories. Just list ideas or words as they come to the writer.

For a best-of list, put the most important words/things at the top of the list. This will also be helpful for a to-do list.
