ATEAL Best Practices: Indigenization
Faye Beauchamp, Community Learning Network
Best Practices for Adult EAL and LINC Programming in Alberta is composed of a series of statements of best practice, each supported by indicators that demonstrate that best practice. The statements of best practice are organized into 15 themes, including 4 inclusion themes.
EAL providers and instructors own their responsibility to take part in ongoing reconciliation between Indigenous peoples and non-Indigenous people who call Canada home. In their practice, they seek to learn and transform, centre Indigenous voices, dismantle racism, and foster reconciliation.
