CALP Platform Infrastructure & Data Residency
Alberta’s Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) supports more than 80 community-based organizations delivering adult literacy, numeracy, English language learning, digital skills, and other foundational learning opportunities across the province. Funded and supported by the Government of Alberta, CALP forms part of Alberta’s adult learning system and helps local organizations serve the specific learning needs of their communities. Members Village provides the database & member-based non-profit software used across the CALP network, supporting shared program administration and facilitating reporting that participating organizations are required to provide to the Government of Alberta. The information below provides a general overview of the platform’s infrastructure, data hosting, privacy-supporting features, and security practices. It is intended as general information and does not replace CALP, Community Learning Network, Government of Alberta, or individual participating organizations’ policies, program requirements, terms, or other applicable notices.
Core Infrastructure
Infrastructure operations adhere to the following protocols:
- Data Residency:
Primary databases, container clusters, and automated snapshots reside exclusively in Canadian data centers (Toronto, ON). - Network & Storage Encryption:
Enforced HTTPS (TLS 1.3/1.2) in transit; AES-256 data encryption at rest. - Access Controls:
Zero-trust architecture with MFA and SSH key authentication restricted to authorized system engineers.
Third-Party Integrations: Where CALP enables specialized external tools (e.g. embedded video streaming), data processed by those specific tools is subject to their agreements.
Governance & Inquiries
- For Member Records & Policy Requests:
To update credentials, adjust communication preferences, or submit a formal data access inquiry, contact the CALP Office directly. - For Infrastructure & Platform Support:
Operational incident logs and system architecture inquiries are coordinated between CALP administration and the technical team at Members Village.
